Suits matter?

simple question, got us all in quite a disussion:)

Does the color/sort matter? Spare/heart/diamond?

I'v heard some talk about Spare and that Spare Ace is better then heart Ace?

ohh and i forgot, if the sort DOESNT matter, how do we deal with the pot? split? cos well, that sounds kinda lame:P

In some games the suit does matter but I seriously doubt you will ever live to see two Royal Flushes in the same hand since the odds of one being dealt are something like 220,000 to 1. Anyway in Hold em it is impossible to have two Royals.
Two suited cards gives you a few more outs if the flop hits you.
