Yes this can be a pitfall.

You may come across a website that offers "50% rakeback" yet in the fine print this really means "up to 50%".

This means your receive you rakeback % based on a tier structure like:

Minimum Rake - Maximum Rake = RB to player

0 - 499 = 20%

500 - 2,499 = 30%

2,500 - 4,999 = 35%

5,000 - 7,999 = 40%

8,000 - 10,999 = 45%

11,000 And above 50%

If in doubt simply send an email to poker room or to the webmaster running the rakeback promotion.

I guess the safest options is to choose rakeback with a fixed rakeback %.
