There's been a few issues recently at NETeller with accounts being hacked, so I thought I'd give a little warning about keeping your information secure.

What has been happening is not NETeller's fault, and from what I have seen they have been great in responding to these issues and re-imbursing players for lost funds.

Somehow the fraudsters are getting email addresses or NETeller account IDs and secure IDs. Nobody knows where they are getting this info.

Anyway, they then use the info they have to get into your email account if you use webmail, and then your NETeller account. All of your balance is transferred away, and sometimes they even change your password.

Follow these steps to make sure it doesn't happen to you, not just with NETeller, but with any online account.

1) USE SECURE PASSWORDS
- always use a hard to guess password, with different characters, capitlisation, numbers etc.

2) USE DIFFERENT PASSWORDS EVERYWHERE
- never use the same password at multiple sites. If you must use some of the same passwords so you can remember them, then have a few different passwords and cycle them. ALWAYS have unique passwords for sites like banking and e-wallets.

3) DO NOT USE A FREE EMAIL ADDRESS
- do not use email addresses at gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc for accounts that need to be kept secure. Do you really trust the low paid workers at these places to keep your details secure? with email security, you get what you pay for - so use a secure email address.

4) KEEP AND EYE ON YOUR STATEMENTS
- a lot of the time you will only notice something is wrong when you log-in to use the funds. Make a habit of checking your balance and statements frequently and sign up for all the 'notification' spam that is available, so you are emailed when your account has activity.

5) KEEP A LOW BALANCE
- e-wallets are relatively secure, but they are not banks. Only keep cash there that you need and withdraw your money if the balance gets too high. Same goes for poker sites.

I hope this info helps some of you avoid the heartache of logging in to play a game, only to find all your money is gone!

I want to warn everybody for scammail.I had this with my moneybookers account.

They send you a mail just like the original and when you click a link at the mail .you will go to Moneybookers and loggin and than they are in 2.

A mail you don't trust .Don't click at anything on it.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It has been said many times before on this site, that Earth Wind & Fires music can bring you peace of mind when times are tough.
