You all know that I will always support our troops and their allies . Regardless of where they are . I may not always agree with the politics , but a soldier is doing his duty to the best that he can . This little note that was sent back state side from a soldier during Nam in the sixties says it all really.....

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which think nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by exertions of better men than himself.

Bear that in mind come Veterans day this Sunday and be grateful to all who have served ,and are doing so now keeping us free, and give them thanks.

Thanks Skinski,
As a multi-war veteran and former paratrooper we all appreciate your support.
Funny thing though, as I get older and begin watching the kids I coached in football join up and get thier buzz cuts my conservative ways are slowly leaning to the left. When it was just me going out there I never thought about the privations but now my heart gets a little heavier everytime I get a freemail letter from a kid I coached. I know the longer this goes on the odds of me attending a funeral service for one of them gets shorter and shorter.
Funny how we age.
