View Full Version : Beware Party Poker
POKER.COM

We've been hearing a lot of rumours around the place about Party Poker security breaches recently.
Not only Party Poker accounts being broken into and funds stolen, but also it seems NETeller accounts are being compromised, with the common link being the passwords and email addresses used at Party Poker. It looks like Party Poker staff could be involved.
Party Poker has also been somewhat unhelpful in dealing with these complaints. They have been closing accounts and treating the affected players as though they were the perpetrators of the fraud.
This is all from third parties, but is has come from multiple trustworthy sources.
So if you have cash at Party, withdraw it. Do not use free webmail accounts and make sure all of your passwords are different and secure.
Just looking out for everyone. ;)

No offense dude, but I'm a little skeptical of what you're saying seeing that you're in direct competition with Party Poker. Personally, I find this sort of unsustantiated accusation to be a pretty piss poor way to get new members to your site.

You're a little confused if you think that Poker.com competes with Party Poker ... And what is posted is not unsubstantiated. It has happened to many players recently and there are threads about this at many other poker forums.
Poker.com is an informational portal. Party Poker is an online poker room. Poker.com exists to warn players of issues like this and to recommend the best online poker rooms to play at.
It's good to be sceptical, but in this case you are simply confused.

As a public forum , I would expect the operators to let it's members in on any news from the poker industry , be it good or bad . As a member it is then left up to me to dig deeper and find out what I can, or to just blindly follow along .

I made a deposit recently to PartyPoker and while processing the system said transaction failed.
After checking my online bank balance and contacting my 24 hour banking number both confirmed the payment was successful. When i called PartyPoker i was told to wait the allocated transaction period to allow the payment to either be allocated to Partypoker or returned to my account.
Guess what? no payment allocated to my PartyPoker account and no refund to my bank.
I have written repeated mails to PartyPoker and even suggested they check their acounts as any organisation of their size should be able to investigate such an issue. Each time i get a reply asking me the injured party in all of this to provide more information.
It seems that no matter how i try, PartyPoker will not accept liability or do anything themselves to resolve this issue.
Does anyone know if there is a legal body I can make a complaint too?
I hve lost all faith in partyPoker after this and would recommend to all to be very wary of using them.
