I don't want to be redundant, but I realized I posted my compliant (http://forum.poker.com/showthread.php?t=40) in the wrong forum and I would really like my message to be addressed.

Please, get rid of the ALL IN button.

Thanks

I'm just a member here , but poker.com the play site is now just a skin of Carbon poker .Which is part of the Game Merging Network . I think their people would probally see your complaint more so , if it were posted in the Carbon Poker section . Genarally the affiliate managers are more prone to looking at their sections .

Simple answer to you're problem...

Just play at pot limit tables.

meh, that solution wouldn't suit me. If I've got the nuts I like to play all my chips.

I've settled down since I originally posted these complaints, so I'm not really that pissed anymore but I still think the all-in button is just plain dumb. Some people might play poker like the lottery and put all their chips on the line a lot, but they're the exception, so I say they should do away with the button all together. I mean, think about it; how many times do you put you push your entire stack all in? For me, I do it probably 2 or 3 times before hitting the final tables in tournaments and that's it.

Also, I'm certain that I'm not the only one that's hit that stupid button by accident.

It hasn't happened to me yet but I can see the potential for it happening...especially on my notebook pc where I have one of those touch pad mouse things and pushing it can sometimes result in a click.

If they don't change it I guess you just got to get into the habit of moving your mouse cursor away from the button before every hand. I agree it is pretty limited in its use though.

I have read elsewhere that they are developing an option to disable this button or remove it or something, will be in the next release which is soon to be in beta testing then probly 2 weeks from there b4 release

Its very debatable getting rid of the all in button.Maybe there could be a limit where you would only be allowed to go all in say 2 or 3 times in any given tournament. After all if they were to do away with it then it couldnt be called "no-limit-holdem" anymore.

Its a good idea in theory but I thought the whole idea of playing online poker is to make it as realistic as possible, ie. as if you were playing with you're friends at home...?

The ALL-IN button will never dissapear or be tampered with in my opinion, its what creates the aggressive players, and the cool and calm players. At the end of the day the best person ALWAYS wins.

I think the ability to go all-in is not what this is about. I thought we were talking about the design of the software and the fact there is a button that puts you all-in which can be easily clicked by mistake. I think the button is needless but the ability to go all-in is essential. Since you can type in any amount to bet anyway the button is surplus to the needs of most players and a risk to haphazard clickers.

Wade hit the nail on the head.

In no way am I saying getting rid of being able to go all-in, after all, it wouldn't be NL without it.

SBP.Pretty bizarre comment SBP. The all-in button is a very dangerous tool, those sites that do have it usually have a disable option user side so that they can get rid. Persoanlly I hate it too.

That being said, this seems like an old discussion as I dont have it any more :D

Adding the option to disable it on your own personal settings would be fine. Even a personal setting to give you a warning screen, like they do if you accidently fld when you could have checked.

All-in is part of the NL game, and something all sites support. I hate having to use the stupid slide button, and risk timing out if things get slow. If I have the nuts, I can click the button and llet it ride.

Another reason to have it is related to strategy. You may want to make a very quick push, versus appearing to have to think about it. Having to slide a bad over to commit to an all-in can mess up some players strategy.
