Just spreading the word for those that may not have received it.

Republican presidential nominee John McCain needs to hear from you TODAY. This week, the Republican Platform Committee included language in the party platform (a document outlining the priorities of the GOP) that supports efforts to outlaw online poker and other forms of online gaming. This is especially troubling given that hundreds of PPA members and poker enthusiasts contacted the Platform Committee and stated their preference that the GOP not include anti-online gaming language in this year’s platform like they did in 2000 and 2004. Sadly, the GOP ignored these calls and decided to abdicate core conservative principles in favor of a "nanny-state" approach to governance.

Please let McCain know you are not pleased with his party’s decision by sending him a letter TODAY telling him to repudiate this plank of the GOP platform. Simply click the link below to send a letter directly to McCain’s presidential campaign. You can send PPA's prewritten letter in less than 60 seconds! Or, you can use the site to send your own letter. It's that easy!

Thank you for making your voice heard. With the election just weeks away it is more important than ever that the candidates know POKER PLAYERS VOTE!

I'm all for regulation as well . I think it will finally put rooms like Absolute and Ultimate that have the big cheating scandals where they belong...out of business with the U.S. Player and keep rooms that are to have the U.S.Player on the up and up. I'm also for taxation...folk need to be real and realize that this country is so damn far in debt, that taxes and proper spending are the only way to get out . The government can talk all that BS that they want bout being able to lower taxes and still being able to get out of debt...but that's all that is.... Bull Shit. Just look what's happened since Bush lowered the taxes on big corporations. Trickle down economics just don't work, And online poker could add billions of dollars a year of revenue .

U.S. Senator Introduces Internet Poker Bill, S. 3616

The PPA is pleased to inform its more than 1 million members that U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (NJ-D) has introduced S. 3616, the Internet Skill Game Licensing and Control Act of 2008.

This exceptional piece of legislation will establish licensed Internet poker in the U.S. and provide American consumers with the vast benefits of a clear regulatory system. The bill is the first of its kind to focus primarily on your favorite pastime. S. 3616, is landmark legislation for the poker community and sets the stage for the next Congress and new Administration to enact sound public policy in the area of Internet poker.

Yesterday, the PPA issued a press release in support of the bill.

I dont know the exact odds, but in my philosophy you never expect it and you always assume that they dont have it... you are going to pay out if you think that way the large majority of the time. It is a 1 in 100 shot that they actually have what they are pretending to have in those instances.
