I just have to feel for the people over at Australia who are dealing with the wide-spread fires. In the early 70's we here in South Carolina had to deal with forest fires that came very close to burning down our own family home....I remember dad having all six of us boys putting water to the house when the fires came within several hundred yards to us, was a very scary situation to say the least...anyhow, here's a story with pictures on the massive fires going on in Australia .
Bushfires in Victoria, Australia
The state of Victoria in southern Australia has recently been hit with hundreds of bush fires during a record-breaking heatwave - temperatures well above 38°C (100°F). Unfortunately, these fires have proved to be the deadliest in Australian history, with at least 166 deaths reported so far.
